Why Should You Come and See Gerard Dean at Jeffreys Books?

Hi everyone! 👋This is Gerard's editor, Emily, here! (A.K.A. The Comma Queen!) 👑 😂

I am taking over Gerard's blog today because I want to find out why YOU (the reader) should come to his 'Meet the Author' event at Jeffreys Books on Wednesday, 10th of June...

🤔 So, Gerard, the event is coming up fast... are you excited?

Yeah, I'm really excited! 😆

You know, I loved getting my book out in print, but, more than anything, I'm a storyteller!

Public events, like the one coming up at Jeffreys, give me a chance to stand up there and share my stories, which is what I really love to do! 🥰

😂 Haha! That's true! I don't think I've ever met ANYONE who tells as many stories as you do! It's quite a different skill from writing - I'm sure the readers at Jeffreys Books will love it! 😍

So, what's your plan for Jeffreys? Do you think you'll tell some of your favourite stories from Wayback? Or will there be some new ones in the mix, too?

Well, you know me, Ems! I probably won't PLAN what stories to tell! But, yeah, I'm sure once I get going, some of the old favourites will come up - along with plenty of new ones!

Most of all, what I love about these events is meeting people, maybe hearing about the books they're writing - or want to write! It's great to chat with fellow authors and share our writing journeys!

Yeah, I remember meeting lots of fellow authors at an event you did at Wimmera Libraries, and one at Dymocks Tooronga! I'm sure this one will be great too!

Thanks for talking to me today, Gerard, but you know, you still haven't exactly answered my question... Why should readers come and see you at Jeffreys Books on the 10th of June?

OK, Ems, you wanna know the REAL reason???

If I'm lucky, my brother Joe will be there, and you know what that means???

As you know, when talking about my stories, Joe always says 'don't believe a word he says...' so, maybe, this is a good chance for readers to find out the REAL truth about growing up on a wheat farm in the Wimmera...

😂 Haha! Yep, readers should DEFINITELY do that!
